Diversity of thought is hugely important as we all have different life experiences that make up our belief systems.

Author and birth keeper, Yolande is a way-shower, truth-teller, and spell-breaker. She co-runs the Radical Birthkeeper School with Emilee Saldaya where they empower women and mothers to go deep into their natural knowing. Author of one of my favorite books, Portal.

Beverley Gray

Author of The Boreal Herbal (possibly the best northern plant guide ever) and owner of Aroma Borealis. I have had the great opportunity to join many of Beverley’s Yukon workshops from 2005-2016, she’s a fantastic herbalist and is one of my greatest teachers.

Janice Schofield-Eaton

Author of Discovering Wild Plants; the first plant book I purchased in Alaska. It’s still one of my favorites. Janice continues teaching herbalism, now in New Zealand.

Rosalee de la Foret

Author of The Alchemy of Herbs and Wild Remedies. I completed Rosalee’s Taste of Herbs online course and am continuously impressed with her knowledge and amazing ability to distill complex material into info that nearly anyone can comprehend. One of the best online resources about herbs you can find. And her photographs are really beautiful.

Kami McBride

Down to Earth, passionate about plants and very knowledgeable! I’ve recently discovered Kami’s work (in the past few years) and am completely enamored. Her Handcrafted Healing Herbal Oils online course is an absolute gem and The Herbal Kitchen book a goldmine. Check out her online courses, she’s a wonderful teacher.

Robert Dale Rogers

Author of The Fungal Pharmacy, Mushroom Essences, Herbal Allies & so many others. Robert is a renowned herbalist and medicinal mushroom expert.  His work on plants and mushrooms is massive, entertaining and incredibly informative.  Highly recommend his work, I’ve learned a lot from him.

Free Birth Society

A treasure trove of insights about pregnancy, childbirth and much more. Highly recommended. Also incorporates an informative and wildly wonderful podcast!

Amber Magnolia Hill

Amber Magnolia Hill of Mythic Medicine does a most fantastic podcast where she interviews healers, herbalists, water workers and other humans practicing natural healing methods. She also has lovely offerings in her shop curated with her gardener husband Owen. Their Elderberry Elixir is out-of-this-world. Seriously amazing.

Dan De Lion

Forager, wild tender and teacher, Dan de Lion is an excellent resource for connecting back to the land and ancestral lifeways. His instagram (@returntonature) account is chock full of how-to’s and herbal information.

Organic Consumers Association

Extensive resource for all things related to Organic agriculture. Keep up to date on changes and issues with GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) crops and ‘food-like-substances’ manufactured from them. Millions against Monsanto campaign. Pesticide and herbicide toxicity info.

Weston A. Price Foundation

The Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF) is a great source for accurate information on nutrition and health, always aiming to provide the scientific validation of traditional foodways.

Amy Newman

Home grown goodness, juice feasting, ferments, hand stitching and home schooling mama. Beautiful posts on IG (@modernfolkmama) and etsy sales. Fun little shop.

Made Whole Herbs

Kate Smith, certified clinical herbalist and holistic health coach and is a passionate seeker of a healthier world. Check out her work! I have gotten to know Kate over the years and she is one filled with integrity.

Matthew Wood

I have several of Matthew’s books and find them to be incredibly insightful and useful regarding plant medicine and energetics.

Henriette’s Herbal

Super solid online reference space with added charm and wit. I’ve often found myself referencing her site when looking up info on a ‘new to me’ plant.

Alfa Vedic

Incredible podcast, holistic health and bio-dynamic gardening focus. Recently discovered this work and have been diving in deep!

Learning Herbs

A monthly or yearly subscription based website that is chock full of herbal monographs, a question and answer board, and plant ID & medicine making videos. Highly recommend for the person just beginning their plant path for solid reference points. I found a lot of value here.

Rosemary Gladstar

Rosemary is one of the great living elders of herbalism. Her work is vast and rich with health and healing information for one to work with. If you like plant medicine, check out her books, they are so good.

jim mcdonald

Based in Michigan, jim is a wealth of knowledge and a wellspring of humor regarding plants and plant medicine. He’s recently offered online courses and I’m sure will continue his epic plant walks in person soon. Highly engaging and well versed on the plants of the mid-west.

7song

Writing on plant ID, herbal medicine and running a free herbal clinic and a botanical school, 7song brings a whole heap of experience and expertise to the herbal realm. Based in New York.

Kiva Rose & Jesse Wolf Hardin

Herbalists, artists, story tellers and authors. Been following these two for well over a decade and have enjoyed their writings immensely. My favorites are The Plant Healers Path, The Enchanted Healer and 21st Century Herbalists.

The Rodale Institute

A place to land when you want to find out more about organic and regenerative agriculture. Beginning in 1940 with J.I. Rodale, it has now grown into an incredible web of expertise and science backed evidence into the benefits of organic agriculture.

Wildly Rooted

Venessa Rodriguez hosts the Feed Your Wild podcast via Wildly Rooted where she interviews folks on a wide variety of topics related to health, healing and the natural world. I’ve enjoyed her work very much. She also does Akashic record readings for each month, which are a fun, intriguing and at times, a startlingly accurate way of viewing our human experience.

House of Yore

Inhabited by Sarah Galvin, herbalist, story weaver and much more. She is very much connected to this land and shares her experience with a depth that makes you want to start knitting, or raising sheep, or making plant medicine, then and there.

Dr. Sarah Carnes

A naturopathic doctor, Sarah is one who helps you seek the root cause of an issue/s and whose no-nonsense, truth telling approach really resonates with me.

Kadhi Bo
